We are seeking a highly experienced Sr. Controls Engineer with 12+ years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing HMI programs for discrete machinery. You will be responsible for taking a systems approach to understand core design features and architecture, and for developing HMI programs that ensure the overall functional quality of the equipment. This role requires expertise in Siemens hardware and TIA Portal software, as well as HMI scripting using HTML5.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, modify, migrate, and implement HMI programs for discrete machinery and equipment.
- Take a systems approach to understand core design features, system elements, and the overall mechanical and electrical/controls architecture.
- Develop HMI programs that ensure the overall functional quality of the machinery.
- Act as the key interface between the hardware and software of the automation system.
- Work with Siemens Comfort panels and Unified comfort panels.
- Program using TIA Portal programming - v15.1 and preferably v17.
- Perform HMI scripting using HTML5 programming for customization.
- Ensure all HMI designs and programs meet project specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate HMI solutions with other system components.
- Troubleshoot and debug HMI programs to resolve issues.
Skills Required:
- Strong experience in the design, development, modification, migration, and implementation of HMI programs.
- Experience with discrete machinery/equipment, preferably from printing, paper converting, packaging, or textile industries.
- Ability to take a systems approach to understand core design features, system elements, and electrical/controls architecture.
- Proficiency with Siemens Comfort panels and Unified comfort panels.
- Expertise in TIA Portal programming (v15.1 and preferably v17).
- Skills in HMI scripting using HTML5 programming.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
QUALIFICATION:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
