Sr. Component Engineer - EMS Industry-CONTRACT ROLE

Role: Sr. Component Engineer

Location:Chennai

Experience: 5+ years in Component Engineering / Electronics Manufacturing

Industry Preferred: Manufacturing / EMS (Electronics domain preferred)

Employment Type: 6 Months Contract in MNC Electronics Manufacturing Company

Role Summary:

Manage component selection, lifecycle, and alternates ensuring availability, compliance, and design support for electronics manufacturing programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify form-fit-function component equivalents & alternates
• Maintain and review Customer AML (Approved Manufacturer List)
• Support designers in component selection & lifecycle management
• Handle EOL / PCN notifications and communicate to stakeholders
• Ensure component compliance, availability & cost optimization
• Support process improvements & time study analysis
• Monitor KPIs and support site/customer queries
• Maintain process documentation & training support
• Assist in special projects and engineering initiatives

Skills:

• Component engineering & lifecycle management
• Knowledge of PCB / circuit design basics
• Understanding of EOL / PCN / AML processes
• Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
• Good communication & stakeholder management
• Basic knowledge of OrCAD / Allegro (preferred)
• MS Office & reporting skills

Education:

• B.E / B.Tech (ECE / EEE / E&I or equivalent)
