By the time a candidate reaches the hiring manager, the technical depth, team fit, and business intent have already been established.
The Role
You are the founder's full-time partner on outbound sales activity. You own the activity layer of our sales operation: outbound cadence end-to-end, CRM and pipeline management, multi-touch follow-up, reply triage, LinkedIn presence, and marketing content production.
You will not be required to close deals. The founder owns those. Your job is to build and run the engine that keeps the right meetings consistently landing on his calendar.
This is a hybrid Sales and Marketing role for someone who loves systems, owns outcomes, and operates inside an AI-augmented stack daily.
What You'll Do (including, but not limited to)
- Run weekly outbound email and LinkedIn cadences across our warm and curated lead universes. Target: 30 to 50 outbound touches per week, 6 to 10 qualified meetings booked per month within 90 days.
- Execute multi-touch follow-up sequences on every active thread until reply or 30-day dormancy.
- Triage incoming replies daily and draft first-pass responses for founder review.
- Run weekly LinkedIn Sales Navigator searches and surface dormant warm contacts for re-engagement.
- Post 3 to 5 times per week on the STEPS Talent LinkedIn Company Page (you own and operate this). Draft 1 to 2 LinkedIn posts per week for the founder's personal feed for his review and ship. Engage daily from your own STEPS profile on relevant posts in our network.
- Produce account-tailored marketing assets (capability one-pagers, case studies, email sequences, brand-consistent collateral) using AI as draft accelerator.
- Maintain the CRM so every account, contact, activity, and signal is logged accurately.
What We're Looking For
- 6 to 10 years in enterprise B2B sales operations, business development, or hybrid sales and marketing roles selling into US enterprise tech buyers (Directors / VPs)
- Track record of running outbound cadences that produced consistent qualified meetings, not just activity reports
- LinkedIn Sales Navigator power user
- Excellent written and verbal English in US business idiom
AI Literacy (Non-Negotiable)
This role lives inside an AI-augmented operating system. You must be an intermediate-or-better daily user of AI assistants (Claude or ChatGPT preferred; Gemini or Copilot acceptable).
- Prompt effectively for outreach drafts, research summaries, content, and account intel
- Iterate on AI-generated output: know when to trust it, when to override, when it's not ready to ship
- Treat AI as a draft accelerator, not a finished-output generator (no raw AI pasted into client communications)
- Comfortable with prompt engineering basics: context, examples, constraints, voice rules
- Open to learning custom AI workflows including scheduled agents, custom skills, and agent-based tooling
Soft Skills and Cultural Fit
- Process-disciplined. Hates chaos (but thrives in it). Builds and follows systems.
- Owns outcomes, not tasks. Will not say I sent the emails if no meetings result. Will say We booked 6 meetings this month, here are the patterns.
- Reads the room on US business communication norms
- Asks why before asking how
- Flags what's not working without ego
- Cares about brand integrity. Will not let anything ship from STEPS that overclaims, name-drops inappropriately, or violates the Brand Messaging Guide.
Compensation
- Annual base commensurate with experience
- Performance bonus tied to qualified meetings booked and pipeline velocity, up to 15% of base
- STEPS provides Microsoft 365 Business Premium, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Canva, and the premium AI subscriptions needed for the role
