Position: Business Analyst – Pre-Sales

Employment Type: Full-time

About The Role

We are seeking a proactive and analytical Pre-Sales Business Analyst to support our IT Services Sales Team. The ideal candidate will work closely with clients, understand their business needs, and help craft tailored service-based solutions. This role is crucial in bridging clients requirements with our technical and delivery capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Client Discovery & Requirement Analysis

  • Conduct requirement-gathering meetings with prospective clients.
  • Understand business objectives, technical needs, and project goals.
  • Translate discussions into structured documents (BRD, SRS, user stories, workflows).

Solution Mapping for IT Services

  • Analyse client needs and maps them to relevant service offerings (development, QA, cloud, support, staffing, etc.).
  • Engage with technical teams to design scalable, cost-effective, and service-oriented solutions.
  • Create solution overviews, capability decks, and delivery approach documents.

Proposal & Documentation Support

  • Prepare proposals, SoW, effort estimations, RFP/RFI responses, and capability presentations.
  • Ensure all documents clearly reflect services, scope, timelines, and assumptions.
  • Collaboration with sales and delivery leads to finalizing cost models and pricing.

Sales Enablement & Client Communication

  • Support sales team with presentations, demos, and functional explanations.
  • Participate in client calls to respond to queries and explain service strengths.
  • Communicate value propositions and differentiate our service offerings.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with delivery managers, architects, developers, and sales.
  • Ensure alignment on service capability, timelines, risks, and delivery feasibility.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing on new service offerings and processes.

Market & Competitor Analysis

  • Research industry trends, best practices, and competitor service models.
  • Provide insights to leadership to enhance or modify service offerings.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and service opportunities.

Transition to Delivery

  • Provide complete handover to project/delivery teams post-deal closure.
  • Ensure scope, documentation, and expectations are transparent and aligned.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, IT, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Pre-Sales Analyst in an IT services company.
  • Strong understanding of IT services like software development, QA, DevOps, cloud, support, or staff augmentation.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and client-engagement skills.
  • Experience preparing proposals, SoW, estimations, and functional documentation.
  • Familiarity with tools like JIRA, Confluence, MS Office, Visio, Figma, or similar.

Good To Have

  • Experience working with global clients (US, UK, Australia).
  • Knowledge of various engagement models (T&M, fixed cost, dedicated team).
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to create process diagrams, user flows, and wireframes.
