Job Description

2Base Technologies is at a deliberate stage of building its marketing function, and this role owns the written voice of that function end to end.

We are a technology services company with over 16 years of delivery experience, working with mid-market and enterprise clients across the United States and the United Kingdom. Our work spans AI implementation, custom software development, legacy system modernisation, and operational transformation.

This is a senior writing role with a specific, demanding purpose. It is not a content management role or a social media role. If that distinction is unclear from the outset, this is probably not the right fit.

What This Role Exists to Do

This role does not invent the voice. It operationalises, applies, and enforces it across all written output: long-form content that earns search traffic, content written in the voice of senior leadership for professional publishing, and the quality standard for everything written that leaves this company.

The audience spans technical leaders and business decision-makers at mid-market companies. Writing that works across that range, without oversimplifying for one end or losing the other, is the actual craft challenge of this role. Technically credible, commercially relevant, and written with a clear point of view. That is the standard this role is hired to meet and maintain.

What You Will Own

  • All long-form written content: pillar pages, blogs, playbooks, decision frameworks, and use-case libraries targeting senior decision-makers in the US and UK
  • Written content produced in the voice of senior leadership for professional platforms, which requires the ability to write convincingly as someone other than yourself
  • The 2Base content voice, including auditing all published content to ensure it meets the company's brand standards
  • Content briefs written clearly enough that a junior team member can produce a first draft without needing to ask clarifying questions
  • The content quality gate: nothing is published without passing through this role first
  • AI tool usage as a productivity layer, not as a substitute for thinking

What You Will Not Own

  • SEO keyword selection: the SEO Specialist sets this and you write within it
  • Social media scheduling and publishing: a separate team member owns this
  • Visual design of content assets: the Visual Designer owns this
  • Distribution strategy: the Marketing & Growth Lead decides which channels content goes to
  • ICP definition: you write for the ICP and you do not define it

Experience

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years writing B2B content, with strong candidates typically at the 5 to 6 year mark
  • Has written content that ranked on Google, not just content that was published
  • Has written in voices other than their own, for executives, founders, or senior professionals
  • Understands SEO at a working level: knows what search intent means and can write to it without being an SEO specialist
  • Has worked with AI writing tools and knows both their value and their limits
  • Can show content that contributed to a measurable outcome: traffic, leads, or engagement with the right audience
  • Background in technology, SaaS, or professional services strongly preferred

Writing Ability

  • Writes with a clear point of view, not neutral summaries of other people's ideas
  • Can explain complex technical concepts in plain language without losing technical credibility
  • Writes concisely with no filler, no padding, and no unnecessary qualification
  • Can write in different voices and make each one sound authentic, not just adjusted

Mindset

  • Treats content as a commercial tool, not a creative exercise
  • Comfortable being edited and does not treat feedback as personal criticism
  • Genuinely curious about AI, technology, and business operations, not faking interest to get the job
  • Fast: this team moves at pace and cannot wait three days for a first draft

What We Are Not Looking For

  • Portfolios of Top 10 Tips articles or trend summaries with no original thinking
  • Writers who cannot explain how any of their content performed or what it contributed to
  • Anyone who has never written for a technical or senior business audience and considers that detail irrelevant
  • Writers who only produce self-directed content and have never worked consistently to a brief
  • Anyone who cannot write convincingly in a voice other than their own
  • Candidates who treat AI tools as the primary author and apply only light editing

Benefits

A growth-driven environment with opportunities to lead, innovate, and upskill continuously.
