Role Description The Sr. Azure Data Engineer – Asset Reconciliation is a remote, contract role responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data solutions on Microsoft Azure to support asset reconciliation processes. Day-to-day tasks include building and optimizing data pipelines, configuring and managing Azure data services, and implementing robust data models and ETL workflows to ensure accurate, timely reconciliation reporting. The role involves collaborating with business and analytics teams to gather requirements, translating them into technical solutions, and monitoring data quality and performance across multiple data sources. The engineer will also troubleshoot data issues, enhance existing data architectures, and contribute to best practices for security, governance, and scalability in the cloud environment.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Data Engineering and Azure-centric data solution design.
- Candidates should possess skills in Data Modeling and Data Warehousing for building scalable, well-structured data environments.
- Candidates should possess skills in Extract Transform Load (ETL) development and optimization for reliable data ingestion and transformation.
- Candidates should possess skills in Data Analytics, including querying, reporting, and supporting reconciliation and insight generation.
- Experience with Azure data services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Database) is highly beneficial.
- Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language commonly used for data engineering (such as Python or Scala) is preferred.
- Background in financial or asset reconciliation processes, with strong attention to data integrity and auditability, is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage priorities in a contract environment, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
