Sr AU Tax Accountant

The company is SOC 2 Type II certified, headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware, with offices in Illinois and Queensland, Australia.

Role Description:If you have hands-on experience working with Australian clients and strong knowledge of Australian taxation, Xero, BAS, GST, payroll, and annual accounts, we would love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and review Australian tax returns and BAS

Assist with preparation and finalization of annual accounts

Perform account reconciliations and review supporting workpapers

Ensure compliance with Australian tax laws and accounting standards

Handle GST and other tax-related matters

Work on tax and accounting requirements for companies, trusts, partnerships and sole traders

Prepare audit-ready documentation when required

Communicate with Australian clients regarding accounting and tax matters

Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and provide relevant financial insights

Qualifications:

3–5 years of relevant Australian Accounting/Tax experience

Hands-on experience working with Australian clients

Xero – Mandatory

Minimum 1 year of Xero experience

Strong understanding of the Australian Tax System

Experience in Australian tax preparation and accounting finalization

Knowledge Required:

Australian Taxation & compliance

BAS (Business Activity Statement)

GST & GST reconciliation

Payroll & Superannuation

Annual accounts and tax returns

Financial statement preparation and finalization

Account reconciliations and supporting workpapers

Audit preparation and documentation

Client communication and financial reporting

Strong written and verbal English communication

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field

CA / CPA / Inter-CA candidates will be preferred
