Job Description

What you will do :

  • Let s do this. Let s change the world. In this vital role you will be responsible for Research Informatics and you will be responsible for development and maintenance of software in support of target/biomarker discovery at Amgen. This role requires proficiency in code development (e. g. Python, R, etc), and some knowledge of CI/CD processes and cloud computing technologies (e. g. AWS, Google Cloud, etc). Additionally, the ability to work with cross functional teams and experience in agile practices is desired.
  • Develop software to transform and visualize omics (genomics, proteomics, transcriptomics) data using programming languages such as Python, Java, R.
  • Develop data processing pipelines for large datasets in the cloud (e. g. Nextflow); integrate with other data sources where applicable
  • Collaborate with the other engineering team members to ensure all services are reliable, maintainable, and well-integrated into existing platforms
  • Adhere to best practices for testing and designing reusable code

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master s degree and 1 to 3 years of in Software Development, IT, or related field, OR
  • Bachelor s degree and 3 to 5 years of in Software Development, IT, or related field, OR
  • Diploma and 7 to 9 years of in Software Development, IT, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in biopharma or life sciences
  • Experience in RESTFul API development e. g flask, MuleSoft
  • Experience in pipeline development using one or more of the following programming languages (Python, Nextflow, etc)
  • Experience with Databricks.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms and infrastructure
  • Experience with Application development (Django, RShiny, Ploty Dash, etc)
  • Work experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience using and adopting Agile Framework

Soft Skills:

  • Strong learning agility, ability to pick up new technologies used to support early drug discovery data analysis needs
  • Collaborative with good communication skills.
  • High degree of initiative and self-motivation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities successfully.
  • Team-oriented with a focus on achieving team goals.
