The GIC Supply Chain team manages end-to-end operations, encompassing planning, sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, and analytics. They strategically plan to meet market demands, optimize sourcing, ensure efficient production, and oversee the seamless movement of goods from production to delivery. The team employs advanced analytics throughout these processes, fostering adaptability and operational excellence. Purpose of the role

This role includes managing efficient information flow and Supply Chain execution that supports product lifecycle and commercialization process. This role is responsible for set-up and maintenance of raw and finished materials requirement parameters in GMI systems, creating and managing the Bill of Materials in SAP which will provide visibility to Supply and Demand, create and maintain recipes for PET products. It focuses on managing material and BoM set-up workflows, data accuracy, issue resolution, and cross-functional communication between R&D, Packaging, Master Data and Project Management teams. This role requires effective communication to connect different stakeholders along with several business teams/ groups in the US.

Key Accountabilities

Operational Excellence (80% of Time)

BoM Setup & Maintenance

  • Manage and execute BoM and Recipe Requests in alignment with commercialization timelines, ensuring accuracy and completeness of product information through Evolve and Optiva PLM workflow.
  • Coordinate and validate Packaging Code requests for plant set-ups.
  • Initiate and monitor Optiva PLM workflow and ServiceNow tickets for BoM and Recipe changes, ensuring r equests are correctly approved, completed on time, maintaining data accuracy and business continuity.
  • Support Bill of Materials creation and maintenance for multi-layered BOMs for North America Pet Foods.
  • Execute Material set up process at required locations.
  • Maintain required parameters for Raw and Finished material in SAP.
  • Have conceptual understanding of product lifecycle process and proficiency in product specifications to create BOMs.
  • Manage exceptions to the standard process and deviations through temporary exceptions.

Data Management & Coordination

  • Collaborate closely with the Evolve and Optiva PLM Technical/ Master Data Team to troubleshoot and resolve workflow or master data issues.
  • Collect and validate product-related information from global groups to support BoM and Recipe readiness.
  • Maintain data integrity across multiple systems and ensure compliance with internal governance standards as well as maintaining the processes to support the data quality, accuracy and reporting.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Track progress of ongoing BoM and Recipe projects, maintaining up-to-date status and timelines in project tracking tools.
  • Actively participate in project meetings and provide status updates, summarizing key blockers, progress, resolution of issues impacting project timelines or data quality, next steps and upcoming priorities to ensure alignment with cross-functional teams.
  • Support the Project Management team by reporting project updates highlighting progress, risks, and mitigation action items.
  • Partner with cross-functional groups to ensure clarity on requirements and timelines, driving alignment across teams.
  • Manage and respond to email escalations related to product setup, workflow delays, or data discrepancies-investigating root causes and recommending process improvements or data-driven solutions.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain and publish regular status reports and dashboards highlighting project progress and workflow performance including cycle time and project metrics.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance data accuracy, and improve turnaround times for BoM and Recipe processes.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and recommend automation or standardization opportunities to improve accuracy and speed.
  • Contribute to documentation and continuous improvement initiatives related to product commercialization workflows and data management.
  • Assist in the review of current planning processes and reports, recommend improvements, and coordinate with global team members to implement changes.

Project Support & Subject Matter Expertise

  • Provide specialized support for large-scale commercialization programs, system migrations, and process transformation initiatives (E.g. Next Gen Pet PLM, Athena, Chessboard etc.).
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for BoM and Recipe setup workflows, data governance, and commercialization tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Evolve, SAP. Optiva PLM).
  • Lead or support knowledge-sharing sessions and onboarding activities for new team members or cross-functional partners.
  • Act as a key liaison during system enhancement testing, UATs, or process redesign projects, ensuring business requirements are met and data standards maintained.
  • Represent the Product Lifecycle Process Management team in project governance or cross-functional forums, offering subject matter input and ensuring alignment with operational goals.
  • Support and execute Merger and Acquisition for PLPM related activities by playing the role of a Subject Matter Expert.
  • Lead, execute and monitor E2E product lifecycle from create and set-up perspective.
  • Work collaboratively with US supply chain partners to ensure accurate management of material master and BoM data, provide valuable insights to business team to mitigate risks and gather relevant information to support the product commercialization and planning processes.
  • Collaborate across supply chain teams to identify and implement information and product flow improvements.
  • Play a role of a Subject matter expert for the team and resolve PLPM process related issues independently and support other team members.
  • Achieve high customer service levels & meet functional KPI targets.
  • Adhere to the SOP and processes set while doing the material, BOM and Recipe set-up activities.
  • Lead and develop the Quality framework rolled out for PLPM Pet processes and be an audit champion.
  • Support ad-hoc projects pertaining to material, BoM and Recipe set-up activities.
  • Daily/weekly/monthly maintenance of internal trackers to capture volume, accuracy, and timeliness for PLPM activities with data analysis for reporting.
  • Gain expertise and leverage knowledge on General Mills planning systems and internal process tools [SAP ERP, Optiva PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), GTM (Go to Market) tools and Evolve workflows etc.
  • Provide regular communication updates on key performance metrics to the business stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Full Time post-graduation from an accredited university (Mandatory- Note: This is the minimum education criteria which cannot be altered)
  • Minimum Degree Requirements: Masters
  • Minimum years of related experience required: 5+ years of experience in product lifecycle management, product commercialization, master data management, or supply chain operations (experience in Pet Food / Consumer Packaged Goods industry preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred Degree Requirements: Masters or above
  • Preferred Major Area of Study: Operations, Supply Chain, Product Lifecycle Management, Specifications Management or Master Data Management
  • Preferred Professional Certifications: CPIM/CSCP
