We are seeking a talented and experienced Data Policy Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in establishing and implementing policies and standards spanning across the data lifecycle management, from data classification to developing security controls and ensuring retention & archival of data across the organization.
In this role, you will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure data standards and controls are implemented in relevant systems, support periodic audits and help develop KPIs and metrics to monitor compliance.
Your Job:
- Collaborate with stakeholders in legal, security and compliance to help develop and document data policies, standards and best practices to support compliance with regulatory requirements and support GF's strategic goals.
- Provide intelligence, advice and counsel to other internal members (peers and seniors) on regulatory issues that affect the data in the organization. These issues could be amendment to a regulation or a new regulation itself.
- Monitor and assess data adherence to policy and standards across various systems identifying areas for improvement
- Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy regulations (e.g. GDPR, CCPA) and other regulatory frameworks relevant for the semiconductor industry (e.g. ITAR, Global Trade Compliance) with organizational policies
- Create and manage data policies in a Data Governance tool
- Develop KPIs and metrics to monitor and measure data policy effectiveness and compliance
- Support drafting of communications and notifications to stakeholders on new or amended policies, implementation updates, compliance and monitoring updates, etc.
- Research and document policy interpretations in response to questions raised to ensure compliance with the related policy
- Develop and keep up to date training materials for data policies and standards
- Foster a culture of data policy awareness and accountability throughout the organization
Other Responsibilities:
- Display strong data management and subject matter expertise on a data management platform or equivalent data management toolset (Collibra, Alation) including data governance, data catalog, data lineage, data privacy etc.
- Define and manage metadata standards and taxonomies to facilitate effective data classification, search and retrieval
- Partner with teams to classify data, maintain data definitions, identify critical and sensitive data for core capabilities, support data sourcing /usage requests, provide resources to solve data issues, and drive consistency, standardization, usability, and change management of data products and data capabilities
- Address data management business requirements as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Completed bachelor's degree from an accredited university is required
- Strong policy analysis and professional writing ability, including editing and proof reading
- Proven experience (2-5 years) in data governance, data management or any role related to data policy analysis and management
- Analytical mindset and attention to detail
- Knowledge of relevant regulations (e.g. SOX, GDPR, IATF, etc.) and standards (e.g. ISO 9001, ESG guidelines, etc.)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, data management, data privacy and regulatory compliance
- Familiarity with data management tools and metadata repositories
- Experience managing data policies
- Experience in the semiconductor industry
- Ability to work effectively across the organization and influence a diverse group of stakeholders
