We are seeking an
Sr. Advance System Engineer – VE/CE Projects to provide
technical, functional, and executing
value engineering, component engineering, and cost‑out initiatives.
This role has end‑to‑end ownership for
VE/CE strategy execution, project prioritization, stakeholder alignment, and talent development, while ensuring delivery of measurable productivity, margin, and design‑to‑cost outcomes across product portfolios.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a Global VE/CE engineering team, providing technical direction, coaching, and performance management.
- Own VE/CE delivery for assigned product lines, with accountability for cost‑out pipeline creation, prioritization, and execution of Process Automation
- Ownership to deliver technically correct solutions based on project Specifications, RFQ, Architecture, etc.
- To develop Typical / Templates for Complex Loops and develop project specific standards
- To read, understand P&IDs, Control Narratives, Logic diagrams, etc
- Drive structured value engineering methodologies, including function analysis, should‑costing, teardown analysis, and design‑to‑cost.
- Partner closely with Product Engineering, and Project Engineering teams of PA, Program Management, Sourcing, and Procurement to identify and realize VE/CE opportunities.
- Provide technical governance and decision authority for VE/CE design changes in electro‑mechanical systems used in Process Automation business
- Establish and deploy common VE/CE processes, metrics, and best practices across the PA VE/CE COE – project engineering.
- Lead and facilitate VE/CE workshops, ideation sessions, and kaizen events to build a sustainable project pipeline.
- Ensure on‑time, high‑quality delivery of VE/CE projects; proactively communicate risks, issues, and mitigation plans to senior leadership.
- Support manufacturing readiness, supplier engagement, and part qualification activities resulting from VE/CE changes.
- Develop technical capability and domain expertise within the team through structured training, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to global strategy discussions for productivity, margin expansion, and cost discipline initiatives.
Qualifications
You Must Have
- B.E / B.Tech in Electronic Instrumentation or Electronics or Control & Engineering
- 12 to 15+ years of experience in Control and Automation Project and Control product design, development, and engineering like DCS / Safety PLC / PLC (preferably on Honeywell Systems) – Design, Detail engineering, Integration of Hardware, FAT with customers at factory
- Exposure if third party systems interface – Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU, OPC (UA, DA, HDA, A&E), ProfiNet, HART, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus
- Advanced L2/L3 nodes – Alarm, History, Asset, Network Management
- Networking Knowledge: TCP/IP protocols, Switch/Router and domain controller configurations.
- Virtualization of control nodes – added advantage
- Ability to influence engineering, sourcing, operations, and leadership teams globally
- Strong ownership mindset with bias for action and results
