Job Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the cash application process, ensuring payments are posted accurately and timely.
• Perform complex reconciliations between deposits and the accounts receivable ledger, resolving any discrepancy.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and control in the cash applications process.
• Generate and analyze detailed reports on cash applications activities, providing insights and recommendations to management.
• Mentor and guide junior staff (interns), fostering a culture of continuous learning and development with the team.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve application issues, improve the order-to-cash cycle, and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations related to cash applications and financial transactions.
• Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations for cash applications activities.
• Oversee the processing of customer refunds, ensuring they are executed promptly and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with Accounts payables, Business finance and accounting to finalize the project reconciliations.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Good understanding of Revenue and Invoicing across direct and indirect to process final adjustments to the revenue before project is fully closed.

colleagues on the phone, by email, and in-person.
Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. The noise level in the work environment is low. This is a largely sedentary role.

Summary

The Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for maintaining the accounts receivable function within an organization. They oversee the collection and processing of payments from customers, monitor outstanding balances, resolve payment discrepancies, and ensure timely and accurate invoicing. The Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist may also be involved in credit analysis, customer account reconciliation, and providing financial reports to management. They should have strong attention to detail, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices.
