Job Description

  • Managing SQL Server services, configurations, memory, CPU, TempDB, and storage settings.
  • Creating and maintaining databases, users, roles, schemas, and permissions.
  • Managing SQL Server Agent jobs, maintenance plans, alerts, and operators.
  • Applying service packs, cumulative updates, and version upgrades.
  • Recovery Time Objective, or RTO, and Recovery Point Objective, or RPO.
  • Backup encryption and compression.
  • Disaster recovery planning.
  • Parameter sniffing.
  • TempDB contention.
  • CPU, memory, disk I/O, and network bottlenecks.
  • Query Store, Extended Events, SQL Profiler, and Dynamic Management Views.
