Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced
SQL Lead with deep expertise in SQL development, database architecture, and performance optimization. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in designing scalable database solutions, supporting application development teams, and driving best practices for database engineering. While exposure to ETL, ADF, and data engineering tools is beneficial, the
primary focus is SQL development and application database solutioning, not ETL as a core competency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end database design, development, and architecture for enterprise-grade applications.
- Perform schema design, normalization, indexing strategies, and capacity planning.
- Develop and maintain database objects including tables, views, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and packages.
- Conduct SQL performance tuning, query optimization, and debugging of complex issues.
- Collaborate with application development teams to ensure robust and scalable database integrations.
- Support Azure Data Factory (ADF) and ETL activities as a secondary responsibility.
- Ensure compliance with coding standards, performance guidelines, data governance, and security policies.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to database engineers and developers.
Required Skills & Experience- 10+ years of hands-on experience in SQL development.
- Strong exposure to Application Database Development.
- Proven expertise in:
- Application schema design
- Database modeling and architecture
- Creation of DB objects (Tables, Views, Procedures, Functions, Triggers, Indexes)
- Performance tuning & query optimization
- Working experience with:
- Azure Data Factory (ADF)
- ETL processes (secondary skill, not primary)
- Strong understanding of RDBMS concepts, data quality, data governance, and security frameworks.
