SQL expert

We are looking for a SQL Expert with around 5 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and optimizing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database solutions. You will play a key role in supporting our data-driven applications, ensuring efficient data processing, performance tuning, and robust database design.

This is a critical role working alongside product, engineering, and analytics teams to deliver high-quality, reliable, and scalable data solutions.

Design and develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions

Optimize query performance, indexing strategies, and database tuning

Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for data processing and transformation

Collaborate with developers to design scalable and normalized database schemas

Analyze and troubleshoot database performance issues and recommend improvements

Ensure data integrity, consistency, and compliance across systems

Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of data models and processes

Support reporting and analytics teams by providing clean, optimized datasets

Work with large datasets and understand partitioning, sharding, and parallel processing

5+ years of hands-on experience with SQL (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or similar)

Strong knowledge of advanced SQL concepts: window functions, CTEs, indexing, query optimization

Experience in writing and optimizing stored procedures, triggers, and functions

Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and ETL processes

Ability to diagnose and resolve database performance issues

Experience working with large, complex datasets and ensuring high performance

Strong understanding of relational database design and normalization

Solid experience with tools like SSIS, Talend, Apache Airflow, or similar ETL frameworks (nice to have)

Familiarity with cloud databases (AWS RDS, BigQuery, Snowflake, Azure SQL) is a plus

Good communication and documentation skills

Experience with BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker)

Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash) for data manipulation

Understanding of NoSQL databases or hybrid data architectures
