About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Oracle PL/SQL Developer to join our dynamic technology team in Chennai (Perungudi). The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of database development, performance tuning, and system optimization. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining complex database schemas, stored procedures, functions, and packages to support our financial services applications. The Oracle Developer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, business analysts, and system architects, to ensure seamless integration and high-performance database solutions. The candidate must demonstrate a problem-solving attitude, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced agile environment. Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. Proven expertise in Oracle Database management, data modeling, and performance tuning is essential. Experience working within the financial services industry is highly desirable. Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies is necessary. Candidates should possess excellent analytical skills, the ability to perform detailed technical analysis, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Familiarity with high-volume, mission-critical systems, and data security practices will be advantageous. Additionally, good communication skills and the ability to mentor junior team members are important for success in this role.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain complex Oracle database schemas, tables, indexes, sequences, constraints, functions, procedures, packages, collections, users, and roles to support business requirements. Understand and analyze business needs to design scalable and efficient database models, ensuring alignment with best practices for database design. Perform capacity analysis, monitor system performance, and implement tuning strategies to optimize database operations. Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for reference and compliance purposes. Write advanced SQL queries, participate in code reviews, and ensure code quality standards are met. Collaborate with front-end developers, particularly those working with Java, to understand user requirements and translate them into effective database solutions. Provide technical guidance and share knowledge with team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Manage and secure databases by creating and maintaining users, roles, and privileges, and implementing security measures to protect sensitive data. Conduct design reviews, test upgrades, and perform troubleshooting to resolve issues efficiently. Proactively monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and propose solutions to enhance system responsiveness. Perform data anonymization for testing and development environments, ensuring compliance with data security policies. Support the development team by developing, unit testing, and deploying code, fixing bugs, and optimizing queries for better performance. Work closely with offshore and onsite teams to coordinate database initiatives, ensuring seamless integration and delivery. Mentor peers through code reviews and technical discussions, promoting best practices and high standards across the team.
