About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Developer to join our dynamic team in Bangalore or Coimbatore. This full-time, hybrid role is designed for experienced professionals who thrive in night shift environments, specifically working during US hours from 6.30 pm to 3.30 am. The ideal candidate will possess over five years of experience in SQL development, with a strong background in database optimization, support, and automation. As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust SQL solutions that underpin critical business functions. Your expertise will contribute to continuous process improvements, ensuring high availability, security, and performance of our data systems.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in SQL development, with a proven track record in supporting enterprise-level databases. A solid understanding of T-SQL, performance tuning, and database security is essential. Experience working in a production environment supporting 24/7 operations, especially during night shifts, is highly preferred. Candidates should possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset. Familiarity with cloud platforms like Azure SQL, Azure DevOps, and related tools will be advantageous. A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
Responsibilities
The SQL Developer will be responsible for a variety of technical and support tasks, including but not limited to participating in peer code reviews to uphold quality standards, recommending improvements to database structures, and implementing best practices. You will provide night shift support for production systems, proactively monitoring and troubleshooting issues to ensure minimal downtime. Performance optimization through query tuning, indexing, and data partitioning will be a core part of your role. You will assist in deploying database changes across staging and production environments, manage user permissions in accordance with security policies, and troubleshoot deployment pipelines, particularly Azure CI/CD workflows. Additionally, you will develop, maintain, and support SSIS packages for data integration and ETL processes, as well as automate routine tasks using PowerShell scripts. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including analysts and business users, is essential to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
