Role Description
This is a full-time role for a SQL Developer.The SQL Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing SQL databases, reports, and business intelligence solutions.
The role includes creating complex and ad-hoc reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), writing optimized T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and joins, and supporting reporting needs across business and application teams.
You will work closely with business stakeholders, end users, department managers, and application teams to understand data flows, support development needs, troubleshoot data and performance issues, and resolve production issues independently.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong ownership, problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and comfort working in a US-overlap shift up to 11:30 PM IST.
Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience in SQL development, including stored procedures, functions, views, joins, indexing, and performance tuning
- Proficiency in SQL Server, T-SQL, SSRS, database development, and database design
- Experience creating complex, ad-hoc, and parameterized BI reports and dashboards
- Ability to write efficient, scalable, and maintainable SQL code
- Experience troubleshooting production issues related to data, performance, SQL logic, and backend systems
- Good understanding of database design principles, data integrity, relational database concepts, and backend data flows
- Experience with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes, data extraction, transformation, validation, and migration activities
- Strong skills in data modeling and understanding of relational database principles
- Experience supporting application teams with data-level customizations, implementations, and development needs
- Experience with report validation, reporting standards, documentation, and data accuracy controls
- Understanding of data warehousing, data archiving, and database administration concepts
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to debug and resolve complex data issues independently
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities, including the ability to work with US-based stakeholders
- Ability to communicate technical topics clearly to business users in non-technical language
- Detail-oriented mindset with a strong focus on reporting quality, consistency, and accuracy
- Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably in manufacturing environments, is a plus
- Understanding of accounting, GAAP, transactional processes, or product distribution processes is preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred
- 4+ years of experience in SQL development, BI reporting, report writing, or data administration is preferred
- Experience maintaining SSRS report servers and supporting reporting environments
- Experience preparing technical documentation, report construction notes, and end-user documentation
- Strong follow-up, time management, and stakeholder-management skills, with experience working directly with end users and department managers
