Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support production MS SQL Server environments (201620192022).
- Perform performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and tuning for SQL Server instances.
- Administer High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions.
- Execute and validate backup and recovery operations.
- Automate operational and maintenance tasks using TSQL and PowerShell.
- Monitor database health and proactively resolve issues.
- Ensure security, compliance, and patching best practices.
- Work closely with application, infrastructure, and support teams.
- Participate in oncall and offhours support as required.
Required Skills & Experience
- 512 years of handson experience as an MS SQL Server Administrator.
- Strong understanding of SQL Server engine architecture and internals.
- Experience with performance tuning using DMVs, Query Store, wait statistics, and execution plans.
- Handson experience with HA/DR such as:
- Always On Availability Groups
- Failover Cluster Instances
- Log Shipping / Replication
- Strong knowledge of backup & restore strategies (full, diff, log, PITR).
- Experience with SQL Server security (logins, roles, encryption, auditing).
- Working experience with automation using TSQL and PowerShell.
- Exposure to Windows OS, storage concepts, and basic infrastructure troubleshooting.
