SQL Database Administrator

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and deploy MSSQL Server instances

• Manage database security including user accounts, roles, and permissions

• Monitor database performance and identify bottlenecks

• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues

• Perform backup and restore operations

• Automate tasks using T-SQL and PowerShell scripting

• Configure and manage HA/DR solutions (Log Shipping, Mirroring, Always On AG, Clustering)

• Document database activities, configurations, and procedures

• Collaborate with developers to optimize queries and database performance

• Stay updated with the latest MSSQL Server technologies and best practices

Required Skillset:

• Strong experience in Microsoft SQL Server administration

• Good knowledge of Windows Administration

• Hands-on experience with T-SQL scripting

• Strong understanding of MSSQL Server architecture and functionality

• Experience with performance monitoring and troubleshooting tools

• Knowledge of database security principles

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Nice to Have / Preferred Skills:

• Experience with database performance tuning tools

• Experience with HA & DR solutions (Log Shipping, Mirroring, Always On AG, Clustering)

• Experience with database migration methodologies

Education Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
