SQL Database Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain MSSQL, PostgresDB, and MySQL database engines with 5+ years of hands-on experience.
• Perform core DBA administrative tasks and understand DB engine architectures in depth.
• Establish and maintain strong database security protocols and standards.
• Manage cloud-based database hosting, preferably on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Work with in-memory databases such as Redis and Memcached.
• Implement effective monitoring solutions tailored to database performance and health.
• Configure alerts for critical database parameters to ensure timely issue identification.
• Analyze performance and provide actionable optimization suggestions.
• Manage post-deployment configurations and enforce best practices.
• Perform automated database installations using configuration management tools like Ansible.
• Configure CI/CD pipelines to streamline DBA workflows.
• Write PowerShell scripts for automating MSSQL administrative tasks.
• Execute database migrations across heterogeneous environments.
• Navigate and manage Linux environments for MySQL and Postgres deployments.
• Design and implement disaster recovery solutions.
• Configure load balancing and replication solutions.
• Set up and maintain robust database backup strategies.
• Continuously explore and evaluate new features in the latest or stable database versions.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including inventory, installation procedures, and system configurations.
• Be available for shift work, including potential on-call support.
• Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams to resolve database-related issues.
