Job Description

We are looking for an experienced SQL / Data Reporting Analyst with strong hands-on knowledge of SQL, SSIS, SSMS, reporting tools, and business analysis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building ETL processes, optimizing queries, producing technical and operational reports, and supporting business units with data-driven solutions.

This role requires someone who can translate business needs into technical requirements, collaborate with stakeholders and developers, and deliver scalable reporting and analytics solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proficiently use SQL, SSIS, and SSMS to optimize queries, build ETL processes, move data, and transform source data.
  • Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
  • Create and maintain systematic reporting solutions for business and operational teams.
  • Recommend improvements to management related to current tools, data quality, efficiency, and return on investment.
  • Partner with management to drive process efficiencies and support improvement initiatives.
  • Perform ad-hoc data queries and reporting requests from business users.
  • Build and maintain monthly Key Risk Indicator and Key Performance Indicator outputs.
  • Support business units when changes are needed in underlying criteria, business logic, or reporting rules.
  • Provide technical support to management and business units on operational initiatives and projects.
  • Administer system changes needed to support evolving business processes.
  • Partner with stakeholders to define and implement elegant, scalable, and sustainable technical solutions.
  • Document data sources, requirements, workflows, and other key implementation details.
  • Collaborate with business units to understand needs and translate them into capability and platform roadmaps.
  • Work with developers to test and verify solutions against business requirements.
  • Deliver ad-hoc reporting and analysis in a timely manner.
  • Maintain operating handbooks, procedure documents, and workflow documentation.
  • Conduct training sessions on system functionality and company complaint management program requirements when needed.
  • Assess and manage business risk appropriately, including compliance and operational risk, while adhering to policy, ethical standards, and escalation requirements.

Requirements, Education, And Experience

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience using SQL, SSMS, SSIS, Access databases, Visual Basic, Monarch, Power BI/Tableau, and related database tools.
  • Ability to work with software tools such as SQL, SSRS, SSMS, Access, Visual Basic, Monarch, Power BI/Tableau, Cenbase, and similar internal systems.
  • Subject matter expertise in analytical business processes within the team.
  • Mortgage servicing experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex customer, departmental, and procedural issues.
  • Strong aptitude for business math and analysis.
  • Ability to analyze business problems and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Experience leading business requirement gathering and defining business requirements.
  • Experience writing user stories and detailed system and functional designs.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work in a cooperative team environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, SharePoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in mortgage servicing.
  • Strong reporting and dashboarding experience using Power BI or Tableau.
  • Familiarity with operational risk, compliance, and process control environments.
  • Experience documenting workflows and training business users.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and stakeholder requests simultaneously.
