SQA / Automation Testing - Selenium, Python (Smart Metering)

Key Responsibilities:

Automation Testing:

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver with Python.
• Execute regression, functional, UI, integration, and system-level tests on smart meter software platforms.
• Work with CI/CD pipelines to integrate automated tests into the development lifecycle.

Test Planning & Execution:

• Analyze product requirements and create comprehensive test plans, test cases, and traceability matrices.
• Perform test execution and defect logging using tools like Jira, TestRail, or similar.
• Validate data accuracy and performance across device firmware, gateways, and cloud platforms.

API & Backend Testing:

• Automate and validate RESTful APIs used in smart metering platforms.
• Use tools like Postman, PyTest, or Requests to design API test cases.

Collaboration & Reporting:

• Work closely with developers, product managers, and hardware teams to understand system architecture and integration points.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).
• Document defects, provide test summary reports, and track test coverage metrics.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 2–5 years of hands-on experience in automation testing, specifically with Selenium (Python).
• Experience in testing embedded systems, IoT platforms, or smart metering systems is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Experience with Linux/Unix, Git, Jenkins, and Docker is a plus.

Skills Required:

• Strong programming skills in Python for test automation.
• Experience in Selenium WebDriver, PyTest, and BDD frameworks (like Behave or Cucumber).
• Understanding of protocols relevant to smart metering (e.g., DLMS/COSEM, MQTT, Modbus) is a plus.
• Familiarity with database queries (SQL/NoSQL) for data validation.
