Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Speech Language Pathologist based in Thrissur. The Speech Language Pathologist will assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders in children with a range of developmental, physical, and neurological conditions. Daily responsibilities include conducting detailed speech and language evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based therapy sessions. The role involves managing dysphagia cases, providing feeding and swallowing interventions, and monitoring progress with clear documentation and reporting. The Speech Language Pathologist will collaborate closely with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, physicians, and families to create coordinated rehabilitation plans, as well as educate caregivers on home-based exercises and communication strategies. Participation in interdisciplinary case reviews, maintenance of accurate clinical records, and contribution to quality improvement and training activities are also part of the role.
Qualifications
  • Strong clinical skills in Speech Therapy, including assessment, intervention planning, and goal-oriented treatment delivery.
  • Ability to evaluate and manage Speech and Communication Disorders, with a focus on pediatric and neurodevelopmental conditions.
  • Competence in identifying and treating Language Disorders, including receptive and expressive language delays and disorders.
  • Experience in assessing and managing Dysphagia, including pediatric feeding and swallowing difficulties.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology or Speech and Hearing, from a recognized institution.
  • Valid professional registration or eligibility for registration with the appropriate council or licensing body, as applicable.
  • Strong documentation, case management, and clinical reporting skills, with attention to detail and outcome tracking.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and communicate clearly with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Empathetic, patient-centered approach, with cultural sensitivity and commitment to ethical, inclusive care.
  • Prior experience in pediatric rehabilitation, neurodevelopmental disorders, or hospital-based rehabilitation is an advantage.
