Specialist - SAP-SAP ABAP

Job Description

Bristlecone India Limited is seeking a seasoned SAP ABAP Consultant to join our S4 HANA Technical – Delivery department. The specialist will work on end‑to‑end ABAP development, customization, and production support for S/4HANA projects, ensuring high‑quality deliverables and seamless integration with business processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test ABAP objects (reports, interfaces, enhancements, BAPIs, OData services) in S/4HANA.
• Perform code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning of existing ABAP programs.
• Collaborate with functional consultants to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Provide production support, issue resolution, and root‑cause analysis for ABAP‑related incidents.
• Implement enhancements and user exits to meet evolving business needs.
• Develop and maintain documentation, including technical specifications and functional design documents.
• Participate in sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, and agile delivery ceremonies.
• Assist in data migration activities using ABAP‑based tools and LSMW.
• Stay current with SAP S/4HANA releases, best practices, and emerging ABAP technologies.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to knowledge‑sharing initiatives.
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of hands‑on SAP ABAP development experience.
• Strong expertise in ABAP OO, ALV, BAPI, IDOC, and OData services.
• Proven experience working on SAP S/4HANA projects.
• Solid understanding of SAP modules (e.g., FI, MM, SD) and integration points.
• Experience with SAP NetWeaver, Eclipse/ABAP Development Tools, and version control systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve performance issues in ABAP code.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Relevant SAP certifications (e.g., ABAP Development, S/4HANA) are a plus.
