What You'll Do
Eaton Corporation's Center for Intelligent Power has an opening for Specialist Systems Engineer who is passionate about embedded system development, ML/AI model development for embedded systems and model based design. The Edge AI Engineer will be involved in developing edge intelligence solutions. In this role, they will be interacting with technical leaders and experts from various business segments within Eaton. The role involves design, development, testing and deployment of ML/AI based intelligent algorithms on edge platforms / controllers. This role involves defining workloads based on end product use cases, implementation of those workload models, defining key primitive blocks that make up the entire workload, workloads performance characterization and optimization to deploy those in resource contrained controller platforms. The role requires candidate with strong systems understanding, digital signal processing, Machine learning and AI along with model based development skillset
- Responsible for design, development, testing of DSP and ML/AI models developed in simulink, code generation, optimization and testing
- The candidate is expected to be experienced in edge specific machine learning libraries and platforms, memory and time optimization
- Implementation of system to component requirements, unit test cases-HIL/SIL, software integration and delivery
- Proven track record of problem solving and debugging on actual hardware
- The candidate is expected to be conversant with Agile methodologies and tools while having a track record of delivering products in a production environment
- Recommend and set up appropriate performance monitoring solutions; author and implement based on the results
- Document and demonstrate solutions by using flowcharts, diagrams, code comments, code snippets, and performance instruments.
- Author high-quality, highly-performance, unit-tested code based on business and Edge AI needs and participate in code reviews
- Work directly with stakeholders, engineering, and test to create high quality solutions that solve end-user problems.
Qualifications
- Batchelor's / Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering
- 12yrs+
- 7+ years of progressive experience in delivering technology solutions in a production environment
- 7+ years of experience in the embedded systems as a developer, with a proven track record of shipping high quality products
- 5+ years of experience with modelling tools MATLAB/simulink, automatic code generation, HIL testing
- High level analytics ability, understanding engineering theory and principles of design
- Batchelors / Master Electronics, controls or equivalent engineering with electives/Thesis in embedded systems, model-based design
- Experience in embedded systems development and troubleshooting and with real-time operating systems
- 3+ years of hands on experience on AI/ML, edge specific machine learning libraries, TensorFlow Lite, etc.
Skills
- Proven track record of problem solving, system integration, verification and validation
- Programming Knowledge - MATLAB, Simulink, Embedded C/C++, python
- SW Development life-cycle process & tools
- Agile development methodologies and concepts including hands on with Jira, bitbucket and confluence.
- Knowledge on software compliance metrics, standards
- Experience with Ethernet, CAN, modbus, TCP/IP
