Position Summary
TruHap Child Development Center is looking for a passionate and dedicated Special Educator to support children with developmental, learning, behavioural, and academic challenges. The Special Educator will work closely with children, parents, therapists, and schools to develop individualized learning plans that help children achieve their educational and developmental goals.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssessment & Planning
- Conduct educational and developmental assessments of children.
- Identify learning strengths, challenges, and developmental needs.
- Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) with measurable short-term and long-term goals.
- Design customized learning strategies based on each child's abilities and needs.
Therapy & Educational Intervention
- Conduct one-on-one and small-group special education sessions.
- Support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities, Developmental Delays, and other special needs.
- Teach academic concepts, functional skills, social skills, and life skills.
- Adapt educational materials and teaching methods according to the child's learning style.
- Use evidence-based teaching techniques and intervention strategies.
Parent Guidance & Counseling
- Conduct parent consultations to understand concerns and educational challenges.
- Guide parents regarding home-based learning activities and behavioural strategies.
- Educate parents on realistic expectations, goal setting, and progress monitoring.
- Conduct monthly Parent-Therapist Meetings (PTMs) to discuss progress and future intervention plans.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily session notes and activity log sheets.
- Track and document child progress regularly.
- Prepare progress reports, school reports, and discharge summaries when required.
- Update intervention plans based on assessment findings and progress reviews.
School Coordination
- Coordinate with schools, teachers, and resource personnel whenever required.
- Provide recommendations for classroom accommodations and modifications.
- Assist parents in advocating for the child's educational needs.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Behaviour Therapists, Psychologists, and other professionals.
- Participate in case discussions and multidisciplinary meetings.
- Contribute to integrated intervention planning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Special Education (B.Ed. Special Education / M.Ed. Special Education).
- RCI Registration (Rehabilitation Council of India) preferred.
- Experience working with children with Autism, ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities, and Developmental Delays preferred.
- Freshers with strong practical exposure may also apply.
