Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Special Educator role at Akal Academy Baru Sahib, located in Rajgarh. The Special Educator will design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for learners with diverse learning needs and disabilities, aligned with school and regulatory guidelines. Day-to-day responsibilities include adapting curriculum and instructional materials, delivering differentiated lessons, and using appropriate accommodations to support student progress in a middle school setting. The role involves ongoing assessment, documentation of student performance, and collaboration with general education teachers, school counselors, and administrators to ensure inclusive classroom practices. The Special Educator will also communicate regularly with parents and caregivers, provide guidance on home support strategies, and participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives that promote an inclusive, value-based learning environment.

Qualifications

  • Expertise in Special Education and working with learners with Disabilities, including designing and implementing individualized education plans and support strategies.
  • Strong Teaching skills with experience in Middle School classrooms, including lesson planning, classroom management, and differentiated instruction.
  • Excellent Communication skills for collaborating with students, families, colleagues, and multidisciplinary teams in a clear, respectful, and timely manner.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education, Education, Psychology, or a related field; relevant certifications or licenses in Special Education are preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to create inclusive, value-based learning environments that support social-emotional development and respect for diversity.
  • Proficiency in maintaining student records, using assessment tools, and incorporating feedback to improve instructional practices.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional learning, ethical practice, and alignment with the institution's mission and values.
