Cognizant is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented
R2R (Record to Report) GL Accounting Professional at the
Senior Process Executive level to join our Finance team. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records and in supporting efficient
month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles with hands-on experience in general ledger accounting.

Key Roles And Responsibilities
General Ledger Accounting
- Prepare and review general ledger entries to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Perform account reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Month-End / Year-End Close
- Actively participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and related reports.
Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and variances, and provide insights to support business decision-making.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Compliance and Internal Controls
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting standards, and company policies to maintain financial integrity.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
Process Improvement
- Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Contribute to the development, documentation, and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
Collaboration and Communication
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve financial and accounting-related issues.
- Communicate effectively with team members, management, and clients.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in R2R GL Accounting, with a strong focus on month-end close and financial reporting.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in financial systems and accounting tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to independently interact with and support clients.
- Willingness to work flexible hours.
- Comfortable working in rotational shifts or any shift as per client requirements.
- Willingness to work 100% from office.
