A Spanish Teacher in international curricula is responsible for developing learners proficiency in the Spanish language while integrating global perspectives, communication skills, and intercultural understanding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Spanish language across assigned grade levels (Primary, Middle, or Senior School)
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with IB (International Baccalaureate) or Cambridge Assessment International Education frameworks
- Develop students reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in Spanish
- Design assessments, worksheets, and language activities as per curriculum standards
- Promote conversational fluency through role-play, presentations, and cultural immersion activities
- Integrate technology and interactive tools in language learning
- Prepare students for internal assessments, IGCSE/IB exams where applicable
- Maintain student records, progress reports, and parent communication
- Participate in school events, language clubs, and cultural programs
Pre-requisites / Eligibility Criteria
Academic Qualification:
- Bachelor's / Master's degree in Spanish Language or related field
- Diploma or Certification in Spanish (DELE B2/C1 or equivalent preferred)
Professional Requirements:
- Teaching certification (B.Ed. / PGCE or equivalent preferred)
- Minimum 2–3 years teaching experience in Spanish language (IB or Cambridge experience preferred)
- Familiarity with International Baccalaureate (IB) or Cambridge International Curriculum
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong fluency in Spanish (spoken and written)
- Good command of English for classroom instruction
- Knowledge of modern language teaching methodologies (communicative approach)
- Classroom management and student engagement skills
- Ability to differentiate instruction for mixed-ability learners
- ICT proficiency for digital teaching tools
Preferred Add-ons:
- Experience with IB MYP / DP Language Acquisition or Cambridge IGCSE Spanish
- Exposure to multicultural/international school environments
- Workshop training in IB/Cambridge curriculum
