Job Description
About the Job Role:
We are building space-grade systems — satellite subsystems, FlatSat platforms, avionics, and payload electronics — and we are looking for a hands-on engineer at the start of their career who already lives and breathes space technology. This is a role for someone who has been building, breaking, and iterating on real hardware and software, not just studying it. You will work alongside senior systems engineers on flight-model hardware, FlatSat integration, firmware development, and end-to-end testing of subsystems destined for orbit.
Responsibilities:
• Support design, assembly, and testing of satellite subsystems (EPS, Avionics, OBC, Communications, Payloads)• Contribute to FlatSat integration and test execution — wiring up subsystems, running functional tests, debugging at the bench
• Develop and debug firmware for micro controllers and embedded targets (STM32, ESP32, or similar)
• Assist with PCB bring-up, hardware validation, and Verification & Validation (V&V) activities
• Write and maintain test scripts, automation, and documentation
• Work with version control (Git) and follow structured engineering processes
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree (completed or final year) in a core engineering discipline: Electrical / Electronics, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Computer Science / Software Engineering
• Demonstrable space-related project experience — university satellite programs, CubeSat / FlatSat builds, student space clubs, CanSat competitions, or rocketry teams
• A portfolio (GitHub, project reports, demo videos, or documented builds) showing real hands on work in space tech or complex engineering
• Foundational skills in at least one of:
Embedded firmware (Embedded C / C++, microcontroller programming)
PCB design and hardware bring-up
Systems engineering, requirements, or test/V&V
Software development (Python, C++) for hardware control or data processing
• Evidence of initiative and drive — projects you started yourself, leadership in a club, hackathons, self-taught skills.
Nice-to-Have:
• Direct CubeSat or FlatSat experience (design, integration, or testing)
• Familiarity with space mission lifecycle, mission assurance, or flight qualification
• High-speed PCB design, ADC/DAC, power distribution (EPS), or avionics exposure
• Experience with Nvidia Jetson, Petalinux, LVDS, or rad-hard / edge computing concepts
• Linux, Bash scripting, Makefiles
• Hobbyist background: aeromodelling, FPV drones, software-defined radio, DIY electronics
