Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role based in Guwahati for a Sous Chef at Sachika Hotels. The Sous Chef should be mentally prepared to work in pressure situations and will assist the Executive Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, supervising food preparation, maintaining quality standards, and training kitchen staff. The role will also involve periodic costing checks , ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and overseeing inventory management .

Qualifications

  • Strong culinary skills including food preparation, cooking techniques in multiple ranges, and plating presentations
  • Proven experience in kitchen team leadership, staff training, and task delegation
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards, with the ability to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Skills in inventory management, and controlling material wastages and food costs
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to maintain a high-pressure kitchen environment while ensuring quality and efficiency
  • Formal culinary training or equivalent professional experience in a similar role preferred
  • Experience in hospitality or hotel kitchen management is a plus
