The House of Maitreya is a new, slow-living caf and outdoor kitchen coming up in North Goa. This is a ground-up kitchen, not an already-set operation. We're looking for a Sous Chef (Continental) who wants to be part of building something from day one.
As a Sous Chef, you will support daily kitchen operations, assist in menu execution, and help maintain quality and consistency across the continental section. This is a hands-on role with room to grow for someone who takes ownership and responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute vegetarian continental dishes with consistency and care
- Assist in breakfast, brunch, caf mains, and Continental and Italian preparations
- Support menu trials, prep planning, and daily mise-en-place
- Maintain hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness standards
- Assist with inventory handling and stock rotation
- Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team during service
Experience & Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of professional kitchen experience in continental cuisine
- Strong fundamentals in continental cooking and basic Italian preparations
- Comfortable working in a new caf setup where systems are still evolving
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and take initiative
- Based in Goa or open to relocation
- Immediate joining preferred
