Dear Candidate,
We have requirement for a competent Merchandiser with strong sourcing and procurement expertise to manage the end-to-end supply chain for our diverse product portfolio: Metal jewelry, wooden/metal home decor, craft items. Candidate will be responsible to source quality vendors, negotiate contracts, ensure timely delivery, and maintain cost efficiency while upholding our brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
Sourcing/ Procurement & Vendor Management
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers/vendors for jewelry, home decor/ craft items
- Cultivate and nurture long-term partnerships with our valued suppliers
- Prepare RFQs, compare quotations, and negotiate pricing/terms for optimal cost savings
- Place purchase orders, track production timelines to manage delivery schedules
Product Development & Quality Control
- Collaborate with product development & design team on product specifications, samples, and prototypes
- Quality assessment - Approve materials, finishes, and samples meeting brand quality standards
- Monitor production for compliance with specifications and ethical standards
- Coordinate with logistics for smooth supply chain operations
Inventory & Cost Management
- Forecast demand and manage inventory levels to avoid stockouts/overstock
- Track procurement KPIs (OTIF, cost savings, supplier performance)
Essential Skills
- Strong vendor negotiation and relationship management
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience with sustainable/ethical sourcing (preferred)
- Basic understanding of jewelry and metal (silver/ copper/ brass) markets, including price fluctuations and material trends (not a mandate, nice-to-have)
- Capable knowledge of materials (metals, wood) (not a mandate, nice-to-have)
- Knowledge of handicrafts and artisanal products (not a mandate, nice-to-have)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Fashion/Textile Merchandising, or related field
- 3-7 years of merchandising/sourcing experience in jewelry, home decor, crafts items (personal care items- added bonus)
