Job Summary
Will be responsible for strategic sourcing and procurement of RM / PM / RLD's / Capex / Consumables supporting both R&D Projects and commercial manufacturing for products intended for regulated markets such as USFDA, EMA, MHRA, and other global regulatory agencies.
The role requires strong expertise in vendor identification, supplier qualification, regulatory compliance, cost optimization, and supply continuity to support product lifecycle from development to commercialization.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Procurement
- Develop sourcing strategies for RM / PM / RLD's / Capex / Consumables used in both R&D development and commercial products.
- Identify and evaluate global suppliers compliant with regulatory requirements (USFDA, EMA, MHRA, etc.).
- Conduct supplier benchmarking, cost analysis, and market intelligence to ensure competitive sourcing.
- Lead negotiations on pricing, payment terms, and supply agreements.
- Monitor supplier performance including quality, delivery timelines, and compliance.
- Develop strategic partnerships with key suppliers.
- Support formulation development and product development teams by sourcing materials required for development, scale-up, and exhibit batches.
- Procure RM / PM / RLD's / Capex / Consumables requirements for the R&D team as per the project timelines
- Coordinate with Formulation, Analytical, Packaging Development & Regulatory teams for sourcing materials required for regulatory.
- Ensure suppliers provide necessary regulatory documentation required for the development & submission.
- Manage procurement of raw materials and packaging components for commercial manufacturing.
- Ensure timely procurement and supply continuity for commercial products.
- Establish and manage long-term supply agreements with approved vendors.
- Optimize procurement costs through commercial negotiations and supplier partnerships.
Vendor Qualification & Compliance
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs for vendor qualification, audits, and approvals.
- Ensure suppliers meet GMP standards and regulatory compliance for regulated markets.
Risk Management
- Identify risks and evaluate alternate suppliers.
- Develop contingency plans for critical raw materials.
- Monitor global supply chain risks affecting regulated market products.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, and Finance.
- Support product lifecycle management from development to commercialization.
- Ensure procurement activities align with regulatory filing strategies and product launch timelines.
Key Skills & Competencies

Qualifications
- Bachelor's / Master's degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Supply Chain, or related field
- MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain or Operations preferred
Experience
- 6–10 years of experience in pharmaceutical sourcing and procurement
- Experience supporting both R&D development and commercial supply chains
- Experience working with regulated markets (USFDA, EMA, MHRA, etc.)
