Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sourcing Manager to join our D2C eCommerce brand. As a Sourcing Manager, you will play a crucial role in identifying, evaluating, and developing supplier partnerships in both China and India. Your expertise in sourcing from these regions will be vital in ensuring our company's supply chain is efficient, cost-effective, and capable of delivering high-quality products to our customers. This role requires a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities associated with both China and India sourcing.
Responsibilities
Supplier Identification and Evaluation:
- Conduct in-depth research to identify potential suppliers in China and India based on our company's product requirements.
- Evaluate suppliers capabilities, product quality, capacity, certifications, and compliance with industry standards.
- Negotiate favorable terms and agreements with suppliers while maintaining positive, long-term relationships.
Cost and Quality Optimization:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Development, Quality Assurance, and Operations, to ensure that the products sourced meet quality standards and cost targets.
- Continuously monitor and assess market trends, changes in regulations, and currency fluctuations to optimize costs and minimize risks.
Supply Chain Management:
- Work closely with logistics and supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery of goods from China and India to our fulfillment centers.
- Develop strategies to mitigate potential supply chain disruptions and risks, proactively planning for contingencies.
Quality Control and Compliance:
- Implement and oversee a comprehensive quality control process for products sourced from China and India, ensuring they meet our company's specifications and customer expectations.
- Ensure suppliers comply with all relevant international regulations and ethical standards.
Vendor Relationship Management:
- Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers, promoting open communication and collaboration.
- Conduct periodic performance evaluations of suppliers and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
Market Intelligence:
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, innovations, and best practices in China and India sourcing.
- Share relevant insights and opportunities with the management team to inform strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven work experience of at least 3 years as a Sourcing Manager, with a strong focus on China and India sourcing.
- In-depth knowledge of the Chinese and Indian manufacturing landscapes, supplier networks, and sourcing best practices.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully managing supplier relationships and achieving cost savings without compromising on product quality.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with fluency in English for China sourcing, and English and Hindi for India sourcing.
- Solid understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and compliance standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel to China and India as needed.
