Sourcing Engineer -Aftermarket

Job description/Mission

In order to further strengthen our sourcing team and to work proactively on the increased demands for aftermarket,
we are looking for a highly motivated Sourcing Engineer to fulfil the ambitious targets of Gas and Process
This position will report to Mr. Jitendra Kumar Jadia - National Operations Manager Aftermarket.

Role & Responsibilities:-

1. Strategic Sourcing of Spare Parts and Components

• Identify and qualify suppliers for compressor spare parts, repair components, and consumables.
• Develop local sourcing options to reduce lead times and dependence on OEM imports.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and contracts to ensure cost competitiveness.

2. Supplier Development and Performance Management

• Evaluate supplier capabilities, quality systems, and manufacturing processes.
• Conduct supplier audits and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor supplier KPIs such as quality, delivery performance, responsiveness, and cost reduction.

3. Cost Reduction and Localization Initiatives

• Drive value engineering and alternate sourcing projects for aftermarket parts.
• Identify opportunities for localization of bearings, seals, impellers, shafts, wear rings, and other compressor components.
• Support business objectives through cost-saving and margin-improvement projects.

4. Technical Support for Service and Repair Operations

• Work closely with service/sales engineers, repair workshops, and technical teams to understand part requirements and specifications.
• Source equivalent or upgraded components while ensuring compliance with OEM standards.
• Resolve technical issues related to material selection, manufacturing methods, and supplier capabilities.

5. Inventory and Supply Chain Optimization

• Coordinate with planning and inventory teams to ensure timely availability of critical spare parts.
• Support forecasting of aftermarket demand and manage procurement strategies for long lead-time items.
• Minimize stock-outs while optimizing inventory carrying costs.

Experience requirements

- Purchasing background of 3-4 years experience in sourcing activities
- Experience in all commercial aspects of Purchasing and Vendor negotiations
- Strong understanding of technical aspects of the Gas and Process products will be essential requirement
- Should have worked on different aspects of Project procurement
- Experience in handling site erection contract management will be an added advantage
- Experience in Vendor qualification / assessment & Vendor Management.
- Experience in evaluating existing and potential suppliers.
- Experience in Vendor rating and judging vendor well.

Knowledge

- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Thorough knowledge of the taxation and commercial contract conditions will be essential requirement
- Thorough knowledge of MS-Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is a requirement
- Thorough knowledge to SAP is a must

Educational requirements

Diploma / Degree in Engineering.
