Role Description This is an on-site, contract role for a Sound Engineer based in Hyderabad. The Sound Engineer will handle audio recording on set, including dialogue, ambient sound, and effects, while ensuring clean, reliable sound capture during shoots. Responsibilities include setting up and operating microphones, boom poles, recorders, and related equipment; monitoring sound levels; troubleshooting audio issues; and coordinating with the director and camera crew to align sound with visual requirements. The role also involves organizing and labeling audio files, maintaining sound equipment, and collaborating with post-production sound editors and mixers to achieve the desired audio quality.
Qualifications
- Solid understanding of audio engineering principles, including signal flow, gain staging, and acoustic considerations.
- Proficiency with professional recording equipment such as field recorders, microphones, mixers, and monitoring systems.
- Experience working on film, television, or media production sets, with awareness of on-set protocols and collaboration practices.
- Ability to identify and reduce unwanted noise, manage audio levels, and ensure consistent sound quality throughout production.
- Strong organizational skills for managing audio files, equipment inventories, and daily production logs.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work closely with directors, producers, and crew members under time constraints.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on production schedules in Hyderabad.
- Relevant technical diploma, degree, or certified training in audio engineering, sound design, or related field preferred.
