Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Sophos Firewall Administrator / Network Security Engineer with 3–4 years of hands-on experience in managing and securing enterprise network infrastructure. The candidate will be responsible for configuring, monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Sophos XG/XGS Firewalls, along with implementing network security policies, VPN solutions, and security controls.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of firewall administration, network security, VPN technologies, IPS, web filtering, application control, and network troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, manage, and maintain Sophos XG/XGS Firewalls.

Create and manage firewall security policies, NAT, ACLs, and routing configurations.

Configure and manage Site-to-Site VPN and SSL/IPSec Remote Access VPN.

Monitor firewall logs, security alerts, traffic patterns, and network performance.

Configure and maintain:

Intrusion Prevention System (IPS)

Web Filtering

Application Control

Anti-virus and Anti-malware policies

Troubleshoot firewall, VPN, connectivity, routing, and network security issues.

Perform regular firewall health checks, configuration reviews, and security monitoring.

Manage firewall rules and access controls in accordance with security requirements.

Monitor and respond to security incidents and suspicious network activity.

Perform firmware upgrades, patches, backups, and configuration changes as required.

Maintain firewall documentation, network diagrams, configurations, and incident records.

Coordinate with internal IT teams and vendors for network and security-related issues.

Ensure high availability, reliability, and security of the organization's network infrastructure.

Required Skills & Technical Expertise

3–4 years of experience in Firewall Administration / Network Security.

Strong hands-on experience with Sophos XG/XGS Firewall.

Good understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, NAT, ACLs, Routing, and Network Security.

Hands-on experience with IPSec, SSL VPN, and Site-to-Site VPN.

Knowledge of IPS/IDS, Web Filtering, Application Control, and Malware Protection.

Experience in firewall monitoring, log analysis, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.

Good understanding of network security best practices.

Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Good communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Sophos Firewall certification will be an added advantage.

Relevant networking/security certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent are preferred.

Experience working in an enterprise IT/network environment will be an advantage.
