Executive Solution Architect Retail Media Network (OpenRTB Focus)
Role Summary
We are seeking a senior, hands-on Solution / Technical Architect to lead the design and delivery of a Retail Media Network (RMN) platform with a strong focus on OpenRTB-based programmatic advertising.
The role owns end-to-end architecture for real-time bidding platforms, including SSP, DSP, Ad Server, auction workflows, and reporting systems, and plays a critical role in integrating third-party DSPs using OpenRTB standards.
This is a high-impact architecture leadership role, requiring deep technical expertise in real-time, low-latency distributed systems and strong collaboration with engineering, QA, and product teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and govern end-to-end RMN architecture, covering:
- Supply-Side Platform (SSP)
- Demand-Side Platform (DSP)
- Ad Server
- Campaign management and reporting systems
- Design and implement OpenRTB-compliant auction workflows, including:
- Bid request and bid response lifecycle
- Real-time auction logic
- Pricing, pacing, and decisioning strategies
- Lead third-party DSP integrations using OpenRTB APIs and event callbacks.
- Define low-latency, high-throughput architecture to support real-time bidding at scale.
- Guide engineering teams on:
- Architecture patterns
- APIs and data flows
- Performance optimization and scalability
- Partner with QA teams to define:
- Functional testing
- Integration testing
- Performance and load testing strategies for RTB workflows
- Ensure compliance with:
- Privacy and consent requirements
- Security standards
- Reporting accuracy and auditability
- Act as a technical authority and architectural advisor to stakeholders.
Required Experience & Skills
- 10+ years of experience in Solution Architecture or Technical Architecture roles.
- Proven, hands-on experience with OpenRTB-based programmatic advertising platforms.
- Strong understanding of:
- Real-Time Bidding (RTB) ecosystems
- SSP, DSP, Ad Server architectures
- Experience designing and scaling:
- Distributed systems
- Low-latency, high-throughput platforms
- Strong experience with cloud-native architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Ability to collaborate effectively with product, engineering, QA, and business stakeholders.
Preferred / Ideal Profile
- Deep expertise in OpenRTB and programmatic advertising ecosystems.
- Experience working on Retail Media Networks or large-scale advertising platforms.
- Strong architectural leadership with hands-on technical depth.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
