Solutions Architect (Managed Services)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Solutions Architect (Managed Services) based in India.

This is a senior, hands-on technical leadership role focused on designing, operating, and evolving large-scale modern data platforms. You'll lead complex cloud and data infrastructure initiatives across Snowflake, AWS, Azure, and related data ecosystem technologies. The role combines solution architecture, production support, technical leadership, client engagement, and continuous platform improvement. You'll guide engineering teams while managing multiple customer environments and technology stacks simultaneously. Your work will directly influence platform performance, security, scalability, automation, and user satisfaction. The position is well suited to an experienced architect who enjoys solving complex problems, learning new technologies, and operating in a fast-paced managed services environment.

Accountabilities

• Design, propose, and provision cloud-native data solutions across AWS and Azure, leveraging technologies such as Snowflake, IAM, S3, EC2, Kinesis, SageMaker, Airflow, Kafka, Azure Data Factory, ADLS, Fivetran, dbt, and related services.
• Lead technical teams responsible for operating and managing modern data platforms spanning streaming, data lakes, data warehouses, analytics, and evolving technology stacks.
• Own the technical relationship and delivery across multiple customer accounts, providing architectural direction across varied environments and technology platforms.
• Assess complex customer environments and translate improvement opportunities into actionable Epics, Stories, and Tasks that mature and optimize data platforms.
• Delegate work to engineers, provide coaching and mentorship, and ensure technical initiatives are delivered successfully and on schedule.
• Provide architectural thought leadership and recommend technologies and approaches that improve performance, security, scalability, reliability, and overall user satisfaction.
• Lead and contribute to data architecture discussions, including data model design for data warehouses and data lakes.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and apply performance tuning techniques across cloud, data, and distributed systems.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive operational activities, optimize platform performance, and expand managed data services.
• Create and deliver detailed technical presentations and recommendations for executive-level audiences.
• Continuously improve processes, procedures, and operational practices across customer environments and internal delivery teams.
  
  

Requirements

• Extensive experience supporting enterprise data platforms in production, including technologies such as Snowflake, AWS, Azure, or Databricks.
• Significant architectural guidance and operational support experience for large user bases and cloud-native data warehouses such as Snowflake or Redshift, with a background in Systems Engineering, DevOps, DBA, or Data Architecture.
• Production experience with cloud and distributed storage technologies such as Amazon S3, ADLS, HDFS, Elasticsearch/Solr, Cassandra, or other NoSQL platforms.
• Hands-on experience with data integration technologies such as Spark, Kafka, event streaming, Fivetran, HVR, NiFi, AWS Data Migration Service, Azure Data Factory, or comparable tools.
• Experience with workflow management and orchestration technologies such as Airflow, AWS Managed Airflow, Luigi, or NiFi.
• Strong SQL expertise, including the ability to write, debug, and optimize complex queries.
• Deep working knowledge of cloud-native data technologies within AWS or Azure.
• Demonstrated ability to create, challenge, and improve technical processes and operational procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and performance-tuning capabilities.
• Proven experience leading and mentoring engineers and supporting technical teams through continuous learning and upskilling.
• Strong interest in learning new technology stacks and adapting quickly to unfamiliar technical environments.
• Excellent client-facing written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
• Strong presentation skills and confidence communicating technical recommendations to executive audiences.
• Strong business awareness, problem-solving ability, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple customer priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively across technical teams, customer organizations, and different technology platforms.
• Preferred experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Preferred hands-on Python experience for building automation and eliminating repetitive support tasks.
• Familiarity with CI/CD frameworks and tools such as Bitbucket, GitHub, Flyway, and Liquibase is advantageous.
• Snowflake SnowPro Core certification is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is preferred.
