Runs effective technical discussions; makes decisive trade-off decisions
Builds and mentors engineers; creates psychological safety and growth
Transparent: admits when you don't know; seeks expertise
Key Responsibilities
What you'll own
- Technical architecture: design system for 10x growth (compute, data, async processing, observability)
- Cloud infrastructure on AWS/GCP/Azure: serverless vs. containerized, multi-region strategy, cost optimization
- Security & compliance: authentication, authorization, encryption, audit logging, data privacy
- Observability: monitoring, logging, alerting, SLOs/SLIs, incident response
- Team building: hire engineers (junior through architect), establish best practices, mentorship
- Technology choices: databases, message queues, vector DBs, agent frameworks, deployment platforms
- Reliability: design for 99.9% uptime, disaster recovery, data integrity
- Cost optimization: right-sizing resources, pricing models, vendor management
Tech Stack
- Clouds - AWS (EC2, ECS, RDS, Lambda, S3) or GCP (Compute Engine, Cloud SQL, Cloud Run) or Azure
- Full Stack - React, TypeScript, FastAPI, Python, PostgreSQL, Docker
