Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced SAP Basis Architect to join our ERP Technology Office (ETO) team. This role focuses on the SAP Lifecycle Management, system refreshes, disaster recovery coordination, and enterprise architecture support. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating SAP and non-SAP system upgrades, managing disaster recovery activities, and delivering critical management presentations. A strong technical background in SAP Basis architecture and excellent presentation and coordination skills are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
1. SAP Lifecycle Management Coordination
- Coordinate and manage SAP system lifecycle activities including system refreshes, upgrades, and migrations.
- Support application owners in prioritizing and planning SAP application, operating system (OS), and database (DB) upgrade activities.
- Develop and maintain system landscape overviews and interface diagrams.
- Track and manage SAP system lifecycle progress and provide remediation plans where necessary.
2. SAP System Refresh Coordination
- Lead and coordinate SAP system refresh activities, ensuring timely execution in alignment with business needs and IT infrastructure.
- Work closely with Service Delivery Managers and application owners to ensure the smooth execution of system refreshes.
3. SAP Disaster Recovery Coordination
- Oversee SAP and non-SAP systems disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Ensure recovery plans are in place and validated regularly, and manage escalations in case of deviations.
4. Enterprise Architecture Support
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to assess and align enterprise architecture with current and future business requirements.
- Support the development and maintenance of heatmaps related to system upgrades and technical refresh activities.
5. Management Presentations & Reporting
- Prepare decision slides and communicate the current situation and remediation plans to senior management.
- Present complex technical information clearly and concisely in regular status meetings with stakeholders.
6. Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work in close collaboration with service owners, cross-functional teams, and other members of the ETO team.
- Function as a backup and support for other team members when needed.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a comparable SAP Basis or IT infrastructure management role.
- Proven experience with SAP upgrade project planning and execution.
Technical Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of SAP lifecycle management, SAP system refreshes, and disaster recovery processes.
- In-depth knowledge of SAP roadmaps, operating system and database version upgrades.
- Strong technical background in SAP Basis administration or Infrastructure administration.
- Experience with IT service support processes and adherence to SLAs.
- Familiarity with SAP ERP, Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel), and ServiceNOW.
