Role Description The Solidworks Designer will work full time on-site at APPL Containers Limited in Bhavnagar, collaborating closely with engineering, production, and quality teams. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and modifying 3D models and detailed drawings of shipping containers and components using Solidworks, ensuring designs meet structural, functional, and safety requirements. The role involves preparing fabrication and assembly drawings, updating design documentation, and maintaining design standards and templates. The Solidworks Designer will support prototyping and production by resolving design issues, coordinating with shop-floor teams, and incorporating feedback into design improvements. The position also includes participating in design reviews, optimizing designs for manufacturability and cost, and ensuring timely completion of design tasks according to project schedules.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Solidworks or similar 3D CAD tools, including part modeling, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, sheet metal fabrication, and structural design relevant to containers or similar products.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, standards, and specifications, and translate requirements into accurate CAD models.
• Experience collaborating with manufacturing and quality teams, with a focus on design for manufacturability, safety, and durability.
• Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work on-site in Bhavnagar in a full-time capacity.
• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in industrial design or mechanical drafting.
• Familiarity with quality management systems and basic knowledge of materials used in container manufacturing is an advantage.
• Prior experience in container manufacturing, heavy fabrication, or related industrial sectors is beneficial.
