Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Solar Technician role based in Kolkata. The Solar Technician will install, commission, and maintain rooftop and ground-mounted solar systems for residential and commercial clients. Responsibilities include performing site surveys, assisting in system layout and panel mounting, wiring inverters and other balance-of-system components, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The role also involves diagnosing and troubleshooting performance issues, conducting preventive maintenance, and documenting work performed through reports and checklists. The Solar Technician will collaborate with project engineers and electricians, interact professionally with clients during site visits, and stay updated on new solar technologies and best practices.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of solar systems and solar power, including basic system design, components, and installation best practices.
- Understanding of the solar industry and power generation concepts, particularly in grid-tied and rooftop applications.
- Hands-on troubleshooting skills for diagnosing faults in panels, inverters, wiring, and monitoring systems.
- Ability to work safely with electrical systems, tools, and equipment, following all site and regulatory safety standards.
- Relevant technical diploma, ITI, or degree in electrical, electronics, or a related engineering/technical field.
- Comfort working at heights and in outdoor environments, with the physical ability to handle installation tasks.
- Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and the ability to follow technical drawings and installation manuals.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills; prior field experience in solar or electrical installation is an advantage.
