Solar Department Head Opportunity
Join our growing renewable energy firm asHead - Solar, where you'll spearhead the solar business vertical, driving project execution from bid to commissioning while navigating India's dynamic regulatory landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end execution of utility-scaleopen access solar projects, including site assessment, EPC oversight, PPA negotiations, and grid integration.
- Develop and implement solar strategy aligned with national targets (500 GW by 2030), optimizing for open access consumer segments and C&I off-takers.
- Ensure 100% regulatory compliance withCERC, SERC tariffs, open access regulations (including UI charges, banking provisions), MNRE guidelines, and state-specific policieslike SECI/REC mechanisms.
- Build high-performing team, manage P&L for solar segment, and secure 500+ MW pipeline through tenders, bilateral deals, and developer partnerships.
- Drive innovation in project optimization (tariff benchmarking, land aggregation, hybrid models) to achieve competitive tariffs.
Required Experience and Skills:
- 10+ years in solar, with proven track record executing3+ open access solar projects from LOA to COD.
- Deep expertise inIndian regulatory framework: Open Access Rules 2023, Electricity Act amendments, CEA standards, state Discom wheeling charges, green tariffs.
- Strong commercial acumen: PPA structuring, risk mitigation (force majeure, change-in-law), financial modelling for IRR >12%.
- Engineering background (Electrical/Mechanical) preferred; MBA/PGDM advantageous.
