Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Solar Site Technician role based in Kozhikode. The Solar Site Technician will install, commission, and maintain solar panel systems at residential, commercial, and industrial sites, following company standards and safety protocols. Responsibilities include conducting site inspections, performing routine and preventive maintenance, diagnosing faults, and carrying out repairs on solar modules, inverters, wiring, and mounting structures. The role involves monitoring system performance, documenting service activities, preparing basic technical reports, and supporting senior engineers during complex installations or upgrades. The technician will also interact with customers on-site to explain system operation, address concerns, and ensure a positive service experience while coordinating with the internal team for materials, scheduling, and escalation of technical issues.
Qualifications
- Strong Troubleshooting and Technical Support skills to identify, diagnose, and resolve issues in solar PV systems.
- Effective Communication and Customer Service abilities to work professionally with clients, contractors, and internal teams on-site.
- Solid Analytical Skills to interpret technical data, system performance metrics, and electrical schematics for problem-solving.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, electrical wiring, and safety standards; prior field experience in solar or electrical work is preferred.
- Diploma/ITI in Electrical, Electronics, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Ability to work at heights and in outdoor conditions, with adherence to all safety procedures and use of PPE.
- Capacity to work independently and as part of a site team, manage time effectively, and handle multiple assignments.
- Valid two-wheeler or four-wheeler driving license and willingness
