About the Role
Soltrac Power is looking for an experienced and technically strong Solar Site Engineer to oversee solar project execution and plant installation activities. The role requires hands-on technical knowledge of solar processes, materials, and systems, along with the ability to supervise site teams and ensure project completion within quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution & Installation
- Supervise the installation of solar PV plants including structure erection, module mounting, cabling, and inverter installations.
- Ensure compliance with project drawings, layouts, and technical specifications.
- Monitor site work progress and maintain alignment with project timelines.
Technical Oversight
- Ensure correct use of materials and components as per project requirements.
- Conduct testing and commissioning of installed systems.
- Troubleshoot technical issues at site and provide solutions.
Material & Coordination
- Verify material availability at site and coordinate with procurement/logistics for requirements.
- Maintain site-level stock records and ensure proper material usage.
- Coordinate with Project Manager and Technical Head for smooth execution.
Quality & Safety
- Implement quality control standards during installation.
- Ensure adherence to safety guidelines and conduct toolbox talks for workers.
- Conduct inspections before project handover.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain daily site reports including manpower, material usage, and work progress.
- Support in preparation of commissioning reports and client handover documentation.
Skills & Requirements
- Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, or Renewable Energy Engineering.
- 24 years of experience in solar project execution and plant installation.
- Strong technical knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, cables, and other solar materials.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and layouts.
- Proficiency in MS Office and reporting tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively to different project sites.
