Solar PV Design Engineer

A Solar PV Design Engineer is responsible for designing and optimizing solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, which includes creating detailed layouts and schematics, performing energy and shading analysis, and ensuring designs comply with electrical and safety standards. Key duties involve preparing Bill of Materials (BOM), single-line diagrams (SLDs), and structural drawings, as well as collaborating with procurement, project management, and installation teams throughout the project life cycle.

Key responsibilities

Design and develop detailed electrical and structural plans for rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems.

Conduct virtual site surveys to assess solar resources, perform shadow analysis, and determine the optimal system design for the location.

Prepare and finalize essential documents such as single-line diagrams (SLDs), Panel Layout, string configurations, AC/DC cable sizing, earthing calculations, and Bills of Materials (BOM).

Use software like PVsyst , Helioscope or relevant tool experience to perform energy yield simulations and estimate system production.

Ensure all designs comply with relevant national and international electrical codes, safety standards, and local grid-interconnection or net-metering guidelines.

Support the procurement process by preparing technical specifications, RFQ documents, and performing technical comparisons of components like modules, inverters, and cables.

Work closely with other teams, including sales, project management, and installation, to ensure client requirements are met and projects are executed efficiently.

Provide technical guidance to installation and commissioning teams and troubleshoot design or construction issues in the field.

Ability to work in different CRM tool.

Required skills and qualifications

Qualification: Diploma / BE in Electrical / Mechanical / Civil

Good Communication & proven working experience of minimum 2-5 years in Designing

Proficiency in AutoCAD and specialized solar design software like PVSyst or HelioScope.

Strong understanding of solar PV technology, components, and system integration.

Knowledge of electrical standards, protection systems, and grid compliance.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and drafting skills.

Good communication skills to collaborate with various teams and stakeholders-expertise in handling International & domestic clients calls as required Shift: Flexible as per business requirement
