Role Overview
The Design Engineer will be responsible for end-to-end engineering design of solar PV projects, including AC/DC system design, shadow analysis, and energy estimation using tools like HelioScope and PVsyst. The role involves preparing detailed design layouts, BoM/BoQ, and technical documentation based on site inputs. The individual will work closely with the Project Execution team to understand requirements and ensure accurate and timely delivery of designs.
Experience: Min 2 years of Design experience in the solar field.
Qualification: B.Tech either in electrical, mechanical or instrumentation engineering.
Know-how:
- Should be Proficient in AutoCAD, Google Sketchup, MS Office
- Should be well versed with Solar Design Software HelioScope. Should be able to do Shadow Analysis using Helioscope and PVsyst.
- Energy Estimation and Generation Simulation using PVSyst and should be able to do AC/DC loss calculation and selection of cable, fault calculation of system, Earthing design calculation, Protection schemes, etc.
- BoM Preparation and BoQ preparation of Entire Solar PV Plant based on Detailed Site Survey inputs.
- Design of ACDBs / LT Panels / HT Panels by selecting different switchgear, SPD, meters, and other components.
- Should be able to interpret complex electrical wiring diagrams for LT and HT side, protection schemes, etc. Knowledge of different types of module mounting structures
- Should be able to interpret civil / architectural drawings, elevation drawings, cross-section drawings. Knowledge of STAAD Pro and Structural Design Calculations according to Wind Speed will be an added advantage.
- Having knowledge and exposure of working at site with project execution teams will be an added advantage.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the work of engineering design of different projects, recognize the requirements from the Project Execution team and interact with them on a daily basis regarding the design & engineering concept of the projects in hand.
- Prepare the design and do the calculations and delivering to the Project Execution team. And also prepare the BoM and with technical details.
- DC & AC side designing which includes design & selection, calculating the rating of the switchgear and protection required in the system, cable sizing, Earthing calculations, etc.
- DC side designing of solar rooftop PV projects, which includes the stringing calculations. 5. Shadow Analysis of the solar project.
- PVsyst report for estimating the Yield Generation of the Solar Plant. Fluent in PVsyst and Helioscope.
- Reviewal of AutoCAD Design. Preparing HelioScope Scene, PVSyst Report, and Google Sketchup.
